Frequently asked questions

More questions? Contact the chamber
Can fatty liver get better?

In some people, liver fat and inflammation can decrease with changes in diet, physical activity and gradual weight loss. Results differ from person to person, and a doctor’s advice and follow-up are important.

Is jaundice a disease in itself?

Jaundice is a sign, not the name of a specific disease. A doctor’s evaluation is needed to find its cause.

Does hepatitis B spread by eating together?

No. Hepatitis B does not spread by sharing food or utensils, hugging or ordinary touch. It can spread through contact with certain types of blood and body fluids.

How often should I have tests?

The same testing schedule does not apply to everyone. The doctor sets the timing based on your previous reports, other health conditions and treatment needs.

When should I see a liver specialist?

See a doctor if you notice yellowing of the eyes or skin, unusual tiredness, swelling of the abdomen or legs, pain on the right side of the abdomen, loss of appetite or nausea, or easy bleeding or bruising.

How do I get an appointment?

Call +880 1779-534882 for a serial at Padma Liver Foundation, or +880 9613-787811 for Popular Diagnostic Center Ltd. (Building-1). You can also send a request through the online form.

Is my appointment confirmed when I submit the form?

No. Chamber staff will call you to confirm your serial and time after reviewing the request.

What should I bring to my first visit?

Bring previous prescriptions, test reports, and a list of medicines you currently take.

What if I need urgent care?

For severe or rapidly worsening symptoms, go to a nearby hospital emergency department. This website does not provide emergency care.
